This authentic late Victorian silverplate trinket box was produced by J.B. & Co. between 1890 and 1910, a maker known for their richly decorated vanity pieces. Stamped “Quadruple Plate,” it originally featured a thick, high-quality layer of silverplate over white metal, much of which has worn to a beautiful antique patina.
The lid displays a classic Art Nouveau floral repoussé design with flowing curves and stylised petals. The box sits on four feet and has a softly scalloped shape typical of turn-of-the-century American decorative metalwork.
Due to age, the hinge has failed, there is a visible crack, and the interior shows notable wear. This piece is best enjoyed as a collector’s display item, styling prop, or historical curiosity.
